Ok, I was wondering how hard you guys think it would be to rip out the storage boxes under my back seats of my 93 Dakota. What I want to do is rip all that out, put a speaker box there in place of the storage box and re-mount the seats. So in effect what I want to do is remove the seats, remove the storage compartments under the seats, build a box (Im thinking about twice the hieght as the original storage boxes) then re-mount the box, then re-mount the seats to the box. Im just curious if anyone has ever done this and how hard it was to do. I currently have a box just sitting on the back seat behind the drivers seat but that takes up too much room. Thanks for any replies!

i just did this in my 97 extended cab. A lengthy day job, but not too much hassle in the project. However, i didnt remove the seats. My sub box is 8 inches deep and kicks the seats up at a slight angle when they're resting on it.

My storage box under my seat is 4 inches behind the driver and passenger seat, I think making it 6 inches would be plenty to push my 12" Kicker Comp CVR. I think I have already decided to make it around 6" the only thing that is stopping me right now is the fact that I need to get carpet that will closely match whats in there now. I would just carpet it with anything but I want it to appear stock so wouldbe theives wouldnt notice it. You wouldnt happen to have pictures of it would you? So far ive only seen one picture of someones truck that did this. Thanks for the reply!

James
