Subject: Dynamic Power?? AMP question.. IP: Logged
Message: I have an MTX 302, and it is rated at 300X1 RMS, or 425X1
dynamic power (Dynamic Power (IHF-202 Standard)
measured at 14.4 Volts DC) anyone know what this means,
I am running the power line directly from my battery... am I
getting 300X1 or 425X1?? What would I have to do to get
425X1, get a power cap??
Anyhelp would be apreciated

Message: Your truck is probably sending around 14.0 volts to the amp when running.
But, I know you are getting atleast 450 watts RMS at 14 volts from the MTX amp. I have three of the 8302's. Same amp, just a different exterior.
They are very underrated.

"Dynamic" power is the power the amp can deliver on a transient peak, i.e. a "bass kick." Dynamic power is higher because the amp's power supply can't sustain that kind of load for very long.
