What sounds good to one may not to someone else.I have Kenwood cd palyer with siruis contrals,JL Components ,JL 8W6 sub, alpine sub amp and a kenwood amp for components. I am very happy with the sound quailty and everything is hidden out of site.

Message: Jl subs are probably the best for the money. Alpine and pioneer head units are hands down the best. Any amp that isn't "Cheap" will do fine, i have a rockford fosgate amp, and it is very clean sounding. for speakers, I would suggest Eclipse fujitsu ten....they are the best speakers that I have ever heard.

Message: I've had much better luck using small companies for subs and amps.
Look into
Adire
Resonant Engineering
Onyx
Elemental Designs
They have good subs for the money. Much better bang for the buck than JL.

Message: If you would really like to use one brand for your whole system, consider Alpine, Eclipe, Rockford Fosgate and Soundstream. However, you will be able to acheive better results if you research each component seperately and then decide which combination will give you the results you desire. I currently reccomend Diamond Audio speakers, Soundstream amps and Alpine head units

Message: 142.2 decibels with two 15's and 2000 watts is kind of sad.
I know a guy with two 8's hitting 144 on the AudioControl.

Message: Hey guys. I am looking at a system for my 2000 Dakota with an Ex-Cab. I don't want to loose any room in my cab so I was looking at the system MTX has specifically for the Kota. The box fits in the plastic the is under the bench seat in the back. The guy at the audio store told me that he would sell me the box, two MTX tens (6000 series) and a concept 500 watt amp for $500-$550. Is this a good buy or is there a better systems I don't know about that would be better for my money? Thanks for your help.
