Can someone please tell me what's so darn special with my factory infinity system? First off I have....
The steering wheel contrils
The 3 bar fader for the dead unit
2 fronts and 2 backs
2 door mounted tweeters
This is completly factory, What's so darn special about this set up? One of the speakers in the door is blown and it costs like $100-$200 to replace it. I can get some really good after market 3 ways for that price. I was just wondering if anyone had had any experience tearing one of these things down or working with them. What should I expect from this system etc...

If your speaker is blown I would just buy some better front speakers for it. And as far as I know there is not an amp from the factory on it.

Factory Infinity amp is under the sidewall panel under the dash on the passenger side. Factory amp has been reported in prior posts here to have a 2 ohm output to the speakers. The 6.75" door speaker is a woofer only. Infinity makes speaker seperates that I am sure are better quality than comes installed from the factory but they will cost you $150.00+ for the set.

dont waste any time with stock speakers, sure the infinity set up is nice but pg is the way to go

5.9 rt w/ alpine cda xm,mp3,dvd compatable deck, one phoinex gold 600.4 tantrum series amp to the 12in pg titanium series sub, and the other 500.2 tantrum series amp to a 6 speaker titanium series set up. all run through 1 gage pg wires and custom installed under my large bench with blacked out sub box and matching leather. its fast too.

The Infinity speakers that come with the truck are not the true inifinity speakers...they are basicly dodge's version of infinity. They pay for the name. They are a lot better than most factory speakers, however won't compare to the true brand infinity. They are great speakers. I previously owned a 98 cavalier which I did all in infinity. I ran 2 12" infinity subs, and didn't need to amp my front end. They were still able to keep up. So deffinately buy a set from an audio shop, not one from the dealership. For mine I paid 160 bucks canadian for 6" rounds and 250 for the set of 6x9's of the Kappa series.
