I have a problem with my 4 door speakers cutting off at various times (all at the same time). My amp and sub continue to go but the 4 speakers shut off. Does this just sound like a loose wire behind the head unit? Is there 1 wire that would cause this to happen? The head unit display stays on and it keeps playing music, just through the sub. I guess the connectors I used w/ the wiring harness weren't quite the right size so I'm assuming something came loose back there but wanted to check with all of you before I tear the dash apart yet again. Thoughts?

ARE YOU RUNNING THOSE 4 SPEAKERS OFF AN AMP OR YOUR HEAD UNIT? ARE YOU RUNNING THEM AT 2OHM (ALL FOUR INTO TWO OUTPUTS).

IF SO YOUR AMP MAY BE GOING INTO PROTECTION MODE TO KEEP THINGS FROM MELTING DOWN. A LOOSE CONNECTION WILL SOMETIMES CRACKLE ON AND OFF.

CHECK YOUR CONNECTIONS AND LOAD.

The 4 speakers are running off of the head unit. The amp is just driving the sub. Sorry I left that out.

i can almost gaurantee you have a speaker wire grounding out either behind the radio or at a speaker if you replaced them. The radio shuts off its output to prevent any damage. check your connections

Thanks 96dak. I think you're right about the speakers shorting out. I had a buddy get in the back and he slammed the door and all the speakers kicked back on. They went out again the next day and I slammed the same door that he did and they kicked back on. Guess I'll take that door panel off and check the connection. Beats tearing the dash up again. Thanks!
