Message: A guy makes custom subwoofers for reg. cab dakotas with the split bucket seats with fold down arm rests/storage compartment. The subwoofer fits directly into the middle seat when taken out, and has two cup holders and another arm rest. It sounds VERY good, I have one in my truck and I am more than pleased with the amount of bass it will put out. http://www.geocities.com/ibsrjoe@sbcglobal.net/JOESDAKOTABOXES.html that is the website.

Message: I am in the process of planning an install in my 03 reg. cab. I have 2 great 10" subs, but there is no way they will fit (I only planned to use 1). From my measurements it looks like I will be able to fit 2 8" sums in wedge shaped boxes behind the seats. Two 8s sound fairly similar to one 10"

Message: Two 8" will sound BETTER then one 10" 'cause it's more cone area. Like a V8 vs a V6... it's all about displacement :) If you want even more low end put more 8"s or use Kicker's Solobarics, since a square 8" has the surface area of a round 10".

Message: depending on leg room desired it is possible to run two 12 inch subs in a regular cab with a full box. With a woofer depth no more than six in a half inches. I would however not recomend the Kicker L-7s due to the fact the sound qulity is greatly effected due to the lack of air space, and limited space avalible for an amp efficent enough to power them. I would reccommend a 10 inch Titanic sub from parts express, it should sound very nice in a small box with lower nessecary wattage.

Message: Yeah guys I built a custom dual 12 inch sub box for my reg cab. It has a recess in the middle behind the center console for the amp! I only lost about 2 inches of seat travel from this.I have pictures online and also some plans that I used if you'd like to see them. Just email me at mean59rt@yahoo.com and I'll send the pics and plans.
