Well I'm about at the end of my rope and ready to have to
go to get ripped off by best buy or some other such place. I
have just bought a 99 Dakota R/T which apparently had the
infinity sound system in it. It came without any type of head
unit just the basic wiring. I of course did not realize I had to
hook up the blue wire to get the amp to turn on so the first
time I installed I got nothing but silence.
So then I did hook up the blue amp turn on wire to the
harness and now I get sound but only through the tweeters
and nothing else... I am stuck and I can't find anything on
this board that could tell me what the problem is. I have
rechecked all the wiring. I am not trying to get a super
system just want anything. Any ideas as to what I am doing
wrong? The head unit is a Kenwood MPV619 and it worked
in my last car perfectly.
I am using a wiring harness that I bought for the dakota.
There is also 1 wire that is hanging from the car that is to
say is not connected to the cars harness and it is Black wire
with green stripe. Cannot find anywhere what this wire is
maybe it is important??

Is the wire part of the two 7-pin connectors or does it have it's own connector on it?

No the wire has no connector on it. It was just there not connected to anything. I've looked at the wiring diagrams and this wire does not belong to either of the 2 connectors, nor does it belong to the small 2 pin connector which I assume is for the steering wheel controls. But the weird thing is there is no ground connector. What I've read says there should be a connector to ground that plugs into the back of the infinity system. There is no such connector in my dash. I'm thinking someone messed with this wiring. I may have to go to dodge to get this installed... I mean everything works, radio powers up and it must be turning on the amp because when I connected the blue amp turn on wire I get sound but only through front tweeters. Could all the other speakers be bad? I think I'm missing something here!

YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING GO HAVE IT INSTALLED.
or find the wiring schematics you need to do the job.
