i am workin on installing a system in my truck, but am very new at this. If i buy a pioneer DEH-P77DH head unit,will the pre installed speaker inserts push 4 pioneer TS-A6870R's or will I need a seperate amp?

Hmmm... I assume the "inserts" you refer to are the speaker outputs from the head unit, and yes they will power your speakers. If you have the Infinity system from the factory, there may already be an amp located behind the passenger kick panel. In that case, you can wire the aftermarket deck with it by using a standard aftermarket wiring harness.

Those factory amps are garbage. Newer cd players put out as much power RMS as those infinity jobs. Yes the cd player will power your door speakers. You have to cut the harness going to the factory amp and use the speaker out that were hooked to it.

Yeah, the infinity setup is not the greatest, I just suggested it because it can get you by until you get real amplification. peace.
