Subject: three questions IP: Logged
Message: hello
i am wondering three things witch i have questions on, from my name tag, yes i am blind but my gf and i own a dodge dakota sprot club cab. here is my questions, what speakers can i buy that will install into the existing speakers placements with out any mods? two, how do i wire something to the fuse box, e.g. my cb i just mounted, 2 1/2 can i just use the stock stereo pw source? the fuse in the box is ten amp, can that handle the stock radio andthe cb? three is anyone in the phoenix area interrested in helping me out? i am blind but i have studied a varity of subject regarding these items, i have installed stereos before "systems" but i always went straight to the battery withe the ams and all, would it be a bad idea just to buy an amp wiring kit "you know with the 8 gage cable " and just connect that into the truck and run the cb and the scanner that i am soon to put in there? also, would it be easy to install the speakers? and where do i buy these? thanks for all the help in advanced, blind tech

Message: Cruthfield.com Use the size guide and find
speakers that will fit. But you might want to go
and buy somewhere else because they are
over priced. maby a bestbuy or ulitamate
eletronics. Speakers will be eazy, red to red
black to black, lol. Wireing sounds good but I
don't know much about that so you might want
to ask someone else. Hope this helps.

Message: First answer, 6.5" speakers in the front, 5.25" in the rear. Second, the best source for power is the battery, or the main ignition harness, NOT the fuse box. Thirdly, I'd love to help you out, but I'm in Connecticut. I have done car stereo install and sales for 8 years, so I have seen my fair share of DIY installs. My advice is pay to have it done professionally by someone in your area that has a GOOD reputation. Like I always tell my customers, 99% of the problems I see are are due to the install, or abuse, NOT the product.

Message: thank you sir, i appriciate the advise, i was told by many though that hook up a thick cable such as an amp cable is too much power for the cb and the scanner, but i thought as long as there was a fuse in the cable itself and then a fuse in the cb line and the scanner line that everything will be ok is this right?
