i have an 89 dodge ram pickup(sorry not dakota)lol. anyhow its got a 3in.x8in. opening for the TAPE player. DIN CD players are 2in.x7in. I plan to install a DIN CD player but need to know what to do about the half in gap that will be around all 4 sides, could someone suggest something PLEASE!! Thanks a million guys.

Any car audio shop should have a "dash kit" for your truck. Your '89 has the same radio mounting that Chrysler used from like 1974 up through 2002, so dash kits for your truck are as common as dirt.

Some companies put out din and a half
headunits for dodges. Might help unless you
already bought a unit.
