Message: Hey guys I know the material of choice is mdf but i have a couple sheets of partical board and a lot of fiberglass mat and material. Would it be bad to build the box out of 3/4" partical board then line it with a couple layers of fiberglass. thanx in advance drew

Message: you would be fine making it out of particle board then glassing the entire inside.

Message: Build the box with the mdf. U can stop there and seal it with silicon caulk or you can take fiberglass and glass all the seams inside to seal it. Ur choice. Either way will sound good as long as the box is built right. If you can get the air space and dont want a crazy looking box i would say dont mess with the fiberglass. Thats up to you though.
Take it easy

Message: thats why he could use it inside to line it like i said it would be easy and very strong and would look simple.

Message: particle board if fine for you ordinary box. I used to spray the inside of mine with rubberized undercoating. You can get it at the parts store near the paint.
