I'm thinking of putting in a custom box under my seats to fit a 8" sub. Will this sub an 8" hit good. I don't need earth shattering bass, but I need somethin better than stock. I was thinkin about gettin a solobaric. Any suggestions and input on a good 8" would be appreciated.
thanks in advance.

I have two kicker comp 8's with a phoenix gold amp-they hit fine. Dont go with solobarics b/c the comps are wired and built the same as solobarics only for half the price. I also built custom boxes- the only way to go in a reg cab

I have a JL auido 8w6 in the q-logic stealth box for a club cab being push by a alpine amp and it hits pretty hard for an 8.I am very happy with it.

I currently have have an 8" rockford fosgate HE
sub in a custom center console in my qc on only 100 watts. I am just using this sub until another one that I ordered arrives, but it actually hits with good impact and plays some very low notes with acuracy. I was going to try an 8W3v2, but for 1/2 the price the RF is great. I have heard alot of good things about the Kicker 8L5 & 8L7 and I think I might try one of those next.

I've got a Kicker L58" and it goes deep for an 8" mostly because it moves the same air as a regular round 10"

I'm shocked at how low of note my L58 will play, they really do sound like 10"s below 50Hz. I'm running mine with only 220 watts and it sounds like it could take another 100 easy.

If your limited on space and have the power go for it. They are not best subs for sound quality in the upper bass range, but for the $$ the L5 is awesome little boomer.

after much decision, I have decided to go with 2 8" Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2's. They don't need much for space and suprprisingly hit very low! I previously had 2 12" infinity Kappa's for competition and was very impressed with the sound from these little 8's. They are being powered by a Clarion 1000 watt amp, so they can handle good power. I haven't heard it installed yet as the custom box is being fabricated...I have high hopes!
