Subject: How to Increase the mids? IP: Logged
Message: I have a JVC sx-980 deck, Alpine type R components and stock speakers in the rear. My truck is a 2002 qc. The deck dosen't have a mid control. I'm getting an amp in two weeks and was wondering how to inrease the midrange. Is there a mid-booster on some amps? I play guitar (hence the reason I have Strat in my name) so I like mids. What is a cost effective way to do this? The amp I'm going with will probably be Alpine also. I'm undecided if I'll go 2 channel or 4. If I get a good deal I'll go 4. Thanks for any ideas.

Message: Add an EQ to the system then you can boost whatever frequencies you want (well... to a point). Instead of boosting the mids you can cut the bass and treble. An amp will help for sure since it's way more powerful then your deck. I'd considering getting a sub to handle the bass as this will free up your mids to do thier job better.
