I have just fitted a pair 220w ovals pioneers in the rear and 120w pioneers up front running of a pioneer 4channel amp(4by60watts)in my'93mazda protoge' ,the head unit is a pioneer too.The sound is crisp and clean.Bass is what I am missing, any suggestions, 1 sub or 2 subs 1Os or 12s.without using too much trunk space I would like more bass responce.would I need another amp?Any responce to this message would be appreciated.

Since you are going all pioneer so far why not a pioneer 10 or 12? You don't need another amp. Run all your mids off 2 channel which should run you at 2 ohm stereo which will work fine. Then bridge the other two to the sub. This channel should run at 4 ohm mono.

The mids you can run full range or use your high pass x-over built into the amp. The sub, set your low pass x-over. I would cap it off at 80hz for sure.
