Message: With that speaker, and on a tight budget, I would suggest wiring the vc's in series for a 4 ohm impedance to the amp and then look for one that has speaker level inputs such as the JL Audio e1200 monoblock. It has plenty of power to push that sub and a built in crossover.

Message: I am going with the same sub and i am looking for a decent mono amp that isn't too expensive. Will the JL Audio E1200 work good? I was thinking on getting the Kicker 02KX400.1 200W x 1 Car Amplifier, but any input on this would be great. Thanks.

Message: I'm pushing my S8L52 with only 220 watts and it WANTS (and needs) more. The closer you can get to 300 watts the better off you'll be, 350 would be awesome. Wiring the voice coils in series gives a 4 ohm load and most stereo amps will be happy to drive that in a mono/bridged configuration no sweat.
I don't recommend mono amps because it limits your upgrade possiblities later. Get a small stereo amp (100 X 2), bridge it (200 X 1) and when you get the money get a bigger stereo amp (like 200 X 2) and use the smaller one to run you mids/highs - can't do that with a mono amp. Just something to think about.
Oh and make sure to get a crossover on the amp to keep the mid-bass out of the sub, mine is crossed over at 80Hz. It slams hard down low (around 40Hz) but its not great sounding in the upper bass range (maybe cause it's square? or just underpowered in my case? who knows)

Message: I still have those ADS, they would fit right behind my rear seats of my QC, perhaps I should pull those 6 1/2 out and replace with 4 oHMS woofers?? and hook to a good amp??
