Subject: gotta keep the windows down IP: Logged
Message: I have a 12" sub in a sealed box in my 2000 club cab, and no matter how I place it, The bass is much better with the windows down.
What do I need to do to make it thump with the windows up?
I've tried sideways, backwards, up, down, and moved it all around in the back, and have the same results.
Thanks

Message: it'll always sound better with the windows closed. It's like putting the sub in another box. maybe make sure it's box is sealed properly.

Message: Yeah get some vent visors for the windows so you can crack them a little, it will help. I've ran into the same problem and ive had about every possible sub size and combo in my truck.

Message: When your windows are closed the sub is firing against a semi-sealed chamber, the inside of your cab. When your windows are open, air can move freely in and out of your cab so the speaker does not work as hard and it sounds better. I bet you only have to your window a little to make it sound better. Also is sould not matter which window you open.
