Subject: mounting depth IP: Logged
Message: i have a 98 dakota single cab and i am wanting to put 2 jl w3v2's in a sealed box, 1 behind each seat. i was told you can 5 1/2" is about right for a mounting depth but what about 5 3/4" (what the w3v2 is) would i have to give up any seat room or what?
anyone have any experience with the mounting depth behind a single cab new body dakota or the w3v2's in that matter.
thanks

Message: Whats up dude, my name is ralph. Anyway, what you need to do is find out the mounting depth of the sub then add 1". The just make a box out of cardboard and duct tape to the size you need and actually test it. Remember to allow for the thickness of your wood when doing the box. You'd be suprised how you can measure and everything will seem fine and then you get all done and go to put it in and there is some litte lump or bolt head or something that throws things off.
