Subject: Want to see some installs!!!! IP: Logged
Message: Ok all I have scraped and clawed and dug out change from under the sofa cusion and finally got some money to put some subs in the dakota. So now that I have my stuff I need some ideas on the speaker box itself. Now the wife is telling me "there is NO way you are removing your backseat" but my tens have a 6 1/16th inch mounting depth. So if anyone is proud of what they got let me see it. Maybe I can get her to budge off the seat removal. lol.

Message: mtx makes a custom thunderform for 97-01 daks. It'll hold 2 ten's and replaces the molded plastic thing under you seat that holds your jack and stuff.

Message: blakdak01 that is an outstanding job from what I can tell. That is what I call a custom job. Just curious as to what kind of air space you have and where the air from the front of the speakers is escaping from. Do you have a picture of your box from the back facing foward? That really looks like something I might venture into trying. Is that plexiglass on top that you can see through or is that just a hole? Once again NICE job!!!

Message: Martin your box is awsome too!! That really looks like it was meant to be there. The raised Ram Head really sets it off. Nice Job.

Message: sorry no picture of the back, the cone of the subs faces the ground which is where the opening of the box is, downfiring subs with this configuration sound awesome

Message: Ok!!!! I have finally done it. I went back home this weekend since I am not the best in the world at wood work. And I got a second opinion. Now a stealthbox would nice nice and out of the way and pretty. But this isnt my wifes truck, this one is mine. I have used blakdak01's idea about down firing my 10's. And let me tell you it is awsome. Though our box's are a little bit different. My box is still not complete but it is sealed and speakers are running in it now. I still have to work on the front of it and get some cup holders in it and carpet of course. Thinking about some fiberglass work though. But anyway I will post some pics soon. I just want to thank you guys that steered me in the direction of building that consoul. It is awsome. Pics soon.
