Message: So many to choose from. I would love one with flashy lights and graphics that fits in the dash. No plans on doing anything else yet. Can I just plug one into factory equipment.

Message: I just got an Alpine CDA-7995. Only $300 off of ebay, I think crutchfield has a good deal on it too. It is really, really nice. Motorized face which is detachable. Not hooked up yet but damn, it looks really good. Anyways, I also looked at some Pioneer decks like the 6400 and 7500, which both have the OEL display, didnt like it as much as the Alpine though, it just seemed cheaper (not price). But if you want OEL (the movie type things) I would get a Pioneer. Kenwood only has a few with OEL type things. I didnt like them. I would suggest lookin around A LOT. Thats what i did for atleast 3 weeks. Just get one that you like, not one that other people like. Its all a matter of opinion.

Message: Does Alpine CDA-7995 require buying a seperate amp(thought I saw somewhere)? Sorry I dont know much about these. I was just planning on getting the deck, at least for now. I do really like the look of it though. Thanks

Message: I am really leaning toward one with the OEL Display. Would the Pioneer deh740 or 7400 be the way to go? Are there better or more current ones for around $300. Are the screensavers built in? Can you add new ones? Thanks

Message: Umm, I saw somewhere that you needed a seperate amp too, but I took the risk. Im going to get an amp anyways for some subs. Anyways. The Pioneer 7400 is pretty good. They also make a 7500 I think. Check both of out on ebay. But there is not a better one for $300 that Pioneer makes. The next closest is the 8400 i think. Not sure on the price though. The screensavers are built in, there are 2 to 4, depending upon which deck you get. In one of them, the 7500 I think, you can download pics to them. Pioneer is the way to go for OEL. Go to www.pioneerelectronics.com for more info on the DEH-7400. Ebay has the 7500. Check em out.

Message: Thanks for your help! I found out that Pioneer 740 and 7400 are last years models. The new ones are models 750 and 7500. I checked them out today ,but it really did not stand out to me. It was not all that clear, the color bothered me(It was green and silver, pict was black and white). However, I just saw the 9400 on the internet, and it looks awsome(Blackish with blue and silver on it); I cannot seem to get over it. Unfortunately, it is quite a few more dollers. I am very tempted to go ahead and get it if I can find a good deal. Does anyone know the difference between the 7500 and 9400 other than price and color. Thanks

Message: Hey VetteGC, I just got the 9400 in my truck. I used to have a panasonic with the graphics before it got stolen. Anyways...I freaking love it, and seeing it on the internet and even in stores doesnt do it justice. Its antitheft control is pretty cool, with the front screen being detachable and the back of the front screen covers the back screen and it looks like nothing is there. Very cool...get a lot of compliments. I know it retails for 600 but I can get it for you a lot cheaper than that. And even if you dont want to end up getting that model I can get you other Pioneers for cheaper too. Just let me know about it and also if you have any questions about the cd player let me know. blazeaudio2003@yahoo.com

Message: I have pretty much seen about every model pioneer except for the 9400. In the 750 and 7500, the screen is black and white(sometimes hard to see). In the picture, it appears that the 9400 has a bluish pict. Does anyone know if this correct? Is it easier to see/look better? JVC seems to have a couple that changes colors. This one does not do that, does it? Also, has anyone tried to download any screen savers, etc.. How does that work? Is there a limited space? Is it just what is provided on the internet site? I have heard that you can put pictures on it, but can you put moving images on it? One guy told me that you can put movie scenes on the 940. Does anyone know anything about that. Thanks

Message: Does anyone know anything about JVC. I found some JVC cd payers with the oel screens. It seemed to have everything the pioneer 7500 had, but the screen also has the ability to change into multiple colors(And looked clearer). That was pretty cool! Also, it was cheaper. It still had the ability to load screen savers and pics. I am really starting to lean that way! Does anyone know the differences between the models. I think it was the JVC Lh-3100. Local shops list them for about $330. I found it on the internet for $230. However, I am worried about ordering over the neT. I would have to buy an installation kit, pay shipping charges, wait on arrival, and pay for installation. Warrenty is also a factor. I would like to make a purchase this weekend; so please help!

Message: I dunno much about JVC. I dont know anyone who has one. Most of my friends have Pioneer. Im not going to say one brand is better than another, but I would get a Pioneer. Just incase you were wondering, The Alpine CDA-7995 does require an external amp, I had to get a 4 channel amp and new Infinity speakers so my stock ones wouldnt blow. So I wouldnt recommend you buy it, although you probably werent going to get it anyways. It ended up costing me 200 for the amp and 200 for 4 speakers, but damn it sounds good.

Message: JVC is crappy they are cheap and have crappy sound quality. Alpine used to be nice until they sold there name and now have parts made in China. CHEAP. Look into Panasonic 5 volts preamp outputs, remote, detachable face, really cool blue display, awesome skip protection, and of course very easy to use. The MXE Line has 2 year warranty. Forget Pioneer all they are is cool display Ive seen so many of them burn out junk. There EQ just ads distortion. Very sucky old technology.
