 Subject: Stereo Anti-theft

I have heard of some vehicles that when you disconnect the O.E.M. stereo, it messes up the vehicle's computer. I haven't seen any posts about there here so I'm assuming this doesn't apply to the Dakota (I have a '98 Sport), but does anyone know for sure?
