Subject: Speaker Size? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1999 Club Cab Dakota R/T, I got a little too confident with my stock Infinity's. I blew both my front bottom door woofers, and one of my back woofers (clubcab). What I need to know is the size of the front bottom door woofer's, and also the back woofer's. Also what are the best bang for your buck speakers that will give off just as much bass if not more as the stocks?
Thanks.

Message: I listen to alot of Trance/Techno (Judge Jules,John Digweed, etc) so I need a set of speakers that can give a decent beat, hope this helps.

Message: I believe they're all "oversize" 6-1/2", some classify them as 6-3/4". Best bet is sticking with 6-1/2" speakers, with an adapter plate for the Dakota pattern.

Message: Ok thanks Jim Z, by adapter plate do you mean the plate you screw the speaker onto in the door housing?

Message: hey, just blew mine in my rt too.
i don't want a sub just a little upgrade, so i asked and got the below advice..and ordered it.($329.00)
=========================
Ok. Your gonna want to go with a component set in the front. Thats 2 6.5" mid-bass speakers and 2 tweeters with a crossover.
Check out the MA Audio 6.5" Y3K6C Component system.
For the rears you are going to want someting with good mid-bass since you arent going to have subs. Check out the MA Audio 6.5" HK65 Hard Kore 2 way full range speakers.
You would be ok pushing these with the MA HK297 400W 2 channel amp with a resistor wired into the rear speakers so they dont overpower the fronts. If you have the $ I'd get the MA HK597 800W 4 channel amp. Believe me the speakers will handle it.
Ive had several systems in my vehicles and I can say that MA audio sounds the best. Dont settle for the best buy BS.
*edit*
Oh yeah, For the head unit, Check out the Upper Panisonic and JVC models.
