Message: The MD format just kind of died :( it was a great idea however similar to Beta-Max - Sony copyrighted it and thus ONLY Sony made them. This drove the cost way up. You might find some older MD players or changers but it would be like buying an 8-track. Now a days everyone just rips to MP3 and buys an MP3/CD player, it's cheaper and more compatible.

Message: I used to use mini-discs...they were great but like JMII said...they just kind of died sony was the only one that made the equipment for them and they made a 10 disc changer and an in dash player for them. however the discs were made by sony, memorex and a few other companies and you could buy them individually or in 10 packs and they sounded great...and if you didn't like what was on the disc you just erased the disc and put new stuff on it...actually the burner that I have allows you to delete individual songs and add to the exsisting ones which is frikin' awesome

Message: the thing about mp3 players is that the cards are like 50 bucks. How is that cheaper? I found an in dash one that i like, but i don't think it will work with the XM radio. I guess i'll just stick with the portable one. Thanks guys

Message: Burn your MP3s to CDs, then they will work with ANY CD player. Thats what I do. Sure it takes up more space, but CD are super cheap these days, and the price of burners is always going down. Most newer CD players will play MP3s, so if you can find a XM Radio that controls a CD changer your all set.

Message: In my opinion making the mp3s into cds is a step backwards. That would take way to much time and room. Also a portable cd player is twice the size of the md player. I'm glad that works for you, but not quite where i'm headed. I do appreciate your input though. I don't think i'll be able to find an XM ready in dash md player, so for now i'll stick with the cd for my truck and the md's for portable stuff.

Message: hey guys, i was able to find a sony in dash mini-disc player that is XM ready, and has cd changer controls. I'm not a huge fan of the Xplode stuff, but it'll have to do.
