Subject: Home Audio, amp question IP: Logged
Message: alright,
I got a pretty decent sized TV, the only problem is that it only have one tiny little speaker.
It does not have any RCA or External Speaker connections. I was given 4 huge home audio speakers and would like to some how hook them up to my TV.
My question is, is there an home audio amp that I can hook the speaker wire from the one tiny speaker into the amp inputs? Or is there a way to turn the speaker wires into RCA connections?
any help would be great!
now you know thats..................

Message: About the only sensible option is to buy a receiver and run audio from the rca outputs on your vcr if it has them. Otherwise, you're trying to get too much out of a system that wasn't designed for much.

Message: I am running my cable to my stereo hifi VCR then on to the television. I also have a stereo audio output going from the VCR to my Sony 6.1 surround sound system with a decent 6.1 speaker system. and also have a DVD player audio output hooked up into it. I get to see all my tv shows as well as DVD and VCR movies in sourround sound. I tried this with a non-hifi but stereo VCR and ended up not having surround sound, only stereo sound. The guys over at the Best Buy said that the stereo hi-fi passes on the surround sound coding but stereo only does not. It works really good this way. Some sporting shows, the Super Bowl and Nascar's kick it up for example are broadcast in surround sound too so even those are cool.
