Subject: Sub Box - MDF Thickness? IP: Logged
Message: Hey
The other day I went to Home Depot looking for 5/8" MDF and the guy there said that dont stock it. Only 3/4" and 1/2"
So I decided to get the 3/4" stuff to build my box. Will this be ok, better, or worse for my box than 1/2"?

Message: the thicker the better. the thicker it is the less it will flex and it will be stronger. all boxes should be made out of 3/4 MDF it is the way to go and will work great

Message: 3/4" is recommended. You can get away with 1/2" for 8" subs, if your not running a ton of power to them.
