Subject: Sub Box Cubic Volume Question IP: Logged
Message: Hey
The box I'm building has 2.3209 cu feet. Thats for the total thing, which houses 2 subs.
The Orion subs I'm looking at getting say
"Sealed Enclosure Volume: 0.6 cu.ft"
With 2 of these in a box with the volume stated above, will it be ok?

Message: Might be too big since that's almost TWICE the recommend size per sub... I'd ask Orion - they built the subs and know how they will perform in various boxes. Personally I always stay within 20% of manufactures recommend size or range.

Message: Yep... just make sure it has a divider, so each sub is in a sealed .6 cu ft section. The box will be stronger that way and any small differences in the speakers themselves will not effect each other. Also make sure you measuring the INSIDE dimensions, you must subtract for the thickness of the wood!
