Go with the Memphis ST1000 amp. It'll blow any MTX amp away. I bought my Memphis ST1000 right before X-mas & I would'nt trade it for no MTX. I've got a MTX 4 channel runnin my mids & highs but I'm replacing it with a Memphis 4 channel as soon as I get some extra $. Good Luck!!

Memphis are ok. Dude I dont know how you can say dont buy MTX when you have a 4 channel dont get it. The new MTX 81000 is 1275 watts at 12.5 volts and requires 1 gauge power wire. Its mean and draws 150 amps. Serious amp nothing better than MTX except there higher line XTANT. Go with MTX man they are one of the best. For the price just go to MTX.com and look at all the trophys they have won and youll know why. Memphis hah

mtx is horrible if u want the best get a zapco or macintosh they are the best of the best but you will spend alot i have the memphis 1000d and it is amazing and it runs cooler than any amp i have seen with that much power

Go with the Memphis ST series amps. I've got the ST 1000 & for the money you can't beat it. It'll blow the doors off any MTX amp. Personally MTX is like Sony JUNK!!

Go with Zappco if you want the perfect amp. You can pick up the 4x120rms for about 2,200.00 not to shabby. lol.

And those Macintosh and Zapco those are superior amps for the best sound quality out there. There always more knowledge out there in products that is what makes them better....

i wouldnt trust anything that a company says about their own product. if that was an independent bench test then i would consider it. i dont see anything special about those awards if you go to sony or kicker im sure they all have long lists of awards that they have won.

Hey Duke if MTX is so bad. I've got a MTX runnin my mids & highs & A Memphis ST1000 on my subs. And the MTX can't hold up no where close to what the Memphis can do. I've heard systems eith MTX & Memphis. The Memphis blows MTX away. And by the way Memphis has got there share of awards also.

maybe I have more experience you think. And I was just showing
that they knew what they were doing not making them sound like
they are the best of course there better companys out there, Xtant,
Focal, Mb Quart, MMats, Eclipse. And I know many company have
gotten awards Im not stupid dude. Did you have the MTX 81000
that would of kept up with you other MTX amp man. Some people
I mean are only into one brand, just do research and quite trying act
like the amps you have are better than everyone else, I already
know the specs and distortion value on both of the amps oh yeah if

I have a memphis 1000d to some memphis woofers (15's) and I connected them to my friends blazer and literaly blew his back window off his truck. Of course I paid for the window, but I didn't care I then knew I have a powerful amp. MTX, whatever, keep your MTX, you have to be certified to even sell Memphis products, and they are winning bass contests at all the lowrider shows. You will definately hear me knocking and thundering about 10 blocks away. I'll make your refrigerator fall passing your crappy MTX keepers house.

Memphis ALL THE WAY!!!! i JUST GOT MY OTHER Memphis 1000d ordered onlined. I will quake the world with 2 of these amps. It says 1000d right, but these are real watts, not like pioneer and sony and Mtx crap!!! look, check out some pioneer 6'9's (300 watts they say they are) them connect some memphis 6'9's. it will be crystal clear, and the Memphis will say it is 125 watts, but real watts, they will be even louder than the so called 300 watt pioneer. MTX has loud woofers and strong amplifiers i will say that, but not close to what a memphis anything, Mtx is out of Memphis's league, leaving mtx in the dust all depressed and confused.. hahahaha

Memphis is overpriced. Yes, they are small, attractive, and reliable....but...
The MTX is a MUCH better buy. The Memphis 1000d was benched at Carsound to put out 997 watts at 1 ohm at 14.4 volts. It is SUPPOSE to do 1100 watts. I wouldn't mind if it was a cheaper amp, but this is a $400-500 amp. It better match it's ratings.
The MTX 1000d will do 1600-1700 watts into 2 ohms at 14.4 volts. You can mod them and they will easily take 1 ohm loads, putting out in excess of 2000 watts RMS.
Yes...I have had personal experiences with both.

nil2thebrain<----- Mtx's come with a sheet that shows the THD, Peak Power, and RMS power. I had a little MTX6500 that is only supposed to be 500 watts rms it said on the birth sheet it had 650. That is awesome how they under rated there power. Same as JL Audio which are also number 1 in Car Audio. Quality built products guys you have to look and how much distortion a amp is besides just getting sweep up in how many watts a amp says it pushs. nil2thebrain you say MTX is crap your only jealous. Memphis are nice man everyone has there own opinions but dont talk big when you know nothing about another brand and you have no knowledge to back up your words. I sell these products for a living. Just research man, dont make false statements MTX are more power than what they really say so you should remove your little comment realating MTX into the same category as sony, come on man sony lost there touch when they came out with xplode.

actually Memphis is a little under priced for the amount of power it puts out...i mean, look at the NEW RF series, that sh*t is awesome...but its expensive as hell...Memphis products are great, just keep them ventilated...they get hot easy...
