 Subject: CC bandpass idea - can it work?

I'm looking to put two small subs in the back of my 98 CC, but would like to use the back seat occasionally. To further complicate matters, I want a fair amount of thump, and want to use the Audiobahn subs with the flame-shaped baskets, for visual effect.
I'm considering removing the 40% portion of the 60/40 rear seat, moving the 60 portion to the center, and building a divided dual bandpass box with one 8" or 10" sub on either side, which will extend down into the area formerly occupied by the tool tray.
It's basically a mixture of the following two ideas, with the addition of a sealed enclosure with plexiglas windows and neon lights on either side of the seat:

Has anyone done this already?
If not, does anyone see any reason why it can't be done?
