Subject: 2-12" under x-cab seat very possible IP: Logged
Message: Ok at any wal-mart in the country you can get fiberglass filler and resin which comes in a mat of 8 sq.ft which is 4x4 for you all so hear is what I am going to do. First take out the under seat storage box and have the cab floor exposed then lay down some plastic or dynamat or foil then to get a perfiect form of the bottom of the box take the fiberglass filler and lay it down and use the jelly form which is blue. This will make a rock solid form of the bottom of the spot under the seat. Now to stengthen this put on another layer so that when you connect it to to the wood it will not break. You can paint it if you like but it will be air tight already and its only about 1/8 inch thick so you have more sub depth I am going to put some metal around the edge in between the two fiberglass pieces so that it will have added strength. You can also make holes where the factory bolts go and bolt this box down so it will not get stolen. After that then use 3/4 or 1/2 inch partical board to make the sides and then see how it looks under the seat. Then put weather strip around the whole top of the open both and you should have a board that has 2 12" circles and a spot in the middle for the anp and place it and screw on. You should have 6 inches of depth after this install and it will fix great and look great to and you will still have you back seat.

Message: word of advise....use sand!
here me out, you might want to use pressure on the fiberglass mat when forming around the floorboard. place plastic on the floor, then fiberglass, then plastic, then get a really large trashbag full of sand and lay it on its side over the fiberglass when wet. Youll get that much tighter of a fit with the fiberglass than using dynomat plus it helps the resin bond better to the fibers.........Also, make sure you have atleast 65 degrees temp TO INCLUDE the truck. dont want your prodject to come out tacky n gooie
