I Have been reading the board here since my search for a dakota began. Friday I picked up my new baby. 2003 Quadcab and after reading many posts here I opted to not get the Infinity upgrade.
I am in the prelim stages of figuring out what I wanna do. Here is what I have so far with interspersed comments and questions.
HU: stock head unit for security reasons.
Fronts: MB Quart components (dsd216 or psd216)
Rears: MB Quart two way (do they make one?)
Subs: two 8's in the center 20% of front seat like another member here did. Not sure what brand to use here.
amps: RF 301x (will they fit behind rear seats and still be able to fold up the seats>? what about under seats?) Still open for suggestions in this area.
Crossover:???
I am told that I would probably wanna use a high to low level converter and a line driver also...any suggestions here?
I am not into competition, so when I am done I want a system that has great SQ and not a rumbling bumbling bass box, but dont wanna spend a fortune doing it.
Will two 8's be too much? do not want them to overpower the highs and mids?
OK I think I got everything covered...whatcha think? anything I am missing, overlooking, or really should consider?
