Message: I have seen it done before. At the bottom of the steering wheel running the length of the middle. It had: play, pause, stop, skip, all the usual. But it was totally customized and he had to take the airbag out to do it if I recall. I do know for a fact that it wasn't a kit that he used, though.

i think i need an IR beam producing oject that will tie into the controls. Alpine said only 2 of there steros (the md's) had ths opportuninty.
They he told me from his exp he saw this done somwehere...
you use an ir beam, and hook it up to your controls, it emulates the same as the remote...
no idea how to do this. anyone of you?
Thx!

Makes a great unit. I have one using a
Blaupunkt. I beleive you need the SWI-3 unit.
Go to there website and it has full instructions
on how to wire it. You might want to have a
stereo shop do it depending on your electronic
skill level. It cost 75 bucks. This is the only unit
I know of. It works if your stereo has an infered
remote.
