Message: nothing in the rear and cdt audio for component set with a decent amp. a/d/s is good too if u want to spend 350 then buy adire audio kodas that is best of the best for that price. they rival the focal utopias and cdt eurosports which cost alot more

Message: I second the idea CDT Audio comps. Just got done with an install of Euros for my fronts. Veeery nice! They are a bit more than your price point, but the HD series may be in that range.

Message: I just hooked up some Pioneer Premier components in my truck. I bought 2 sets (4 speakers, 4 tweets) for $168.00 shipped. They all sound great and were easy to hook up. Only bad thing is i'm picking up an engine noise.....it was there with the factory speakers though. Hope this helped,
-Matt

Message: lacking in midbass but good for the money. i think they are 210 at ikesound.com for the resolution. i would spend a little more though and for 250 at the same place you could get alpine type x components. they are also good and under 300 bucks

Message: So what does crisp bass have to do with hearing the words?? Most lyrics in songs are mids or possibly highs, not bass. You want clean bass get some subs, not components.

Message: Damn, that's nuts that I see Adire Audio reccomended now. Couple years ago all they had was the Mark II. I own a Mark III I use in my house, awesome sub. Goes much lower than a lot of 12" subs. They've been busy.
graphite, how do you like those CDTs so far? I am looking at putting either their midbass euros or the Adire Audio Koda midbass in my rear panels (if the Koda will fit).

Message: Better listen yourself... for example I think Boston's & MB Quarts sound horrible but other people love them. I perfer much softer highs.
Rear speakers are for fill only, get a set of two-ways set your fader to 70% front and be done with it.
The more midbass you have up front the better your system will sound overall. Your subs should not overpower your mids... they should blend in with them. Clear bass from your mids is very important, if not all you have is a rolling boom box YUK! :(

Message: I'd have to agree with the Boston fans...I think that they sound awesome...had a set in my old car and they rocked...thought I might try something a little less expensive in my truck just to see what would happen...and I finally ended up with a set of Alpine Type R 6.5" component in the front and a set of the new Alpine Type S two-ways in the back all being pushed by two MTX amps and two MTX subs to go along with those...and they sound incredible...nice crisp highs from the silk tweeters...although the do somewhat lack bass...but if your using subs at all they are perfect...
