Subject: jl w0's in a thunderform IP: Logged
Message: i know some of you have put jl w0's in a thunderform, and i'm wondering if you have any pictures/would be willing to take some and post them or email them to me.
also, if you could help me out and give me some ideas of how much work i'm in for before i actually buy them.
they are exactly what i want. i want to run them off a 250w mono amp, which is optimum according to jl.
also, anyone who has modified a tform or used mounting rings or anything to fit subs in a tform, it would be appreciated if you could post or email me.
esv106@psu.edu
thanks if you can help

Message: I just put mine in a few weeks ago, they fit good although I had to take off the rubber ring the jl's came with. I also bought some longer, thicker bolts at home depo drilled out the floor pan inserts and bolted it though the floor(for security purposes)It was harder to take out the old tool tray than to put in the thunderform, Oh yeah the seat sits a little high now but still usable....and I was pretty impressed with the sound of it(I was running 2 12" 12w0's they are not quite as loud but IMO there a lot cleaner and have a nice attack)Btw I'm using the craptory head and a Pheonix gold MS275 Bridged into 2 ohm's and it barely warms up email me if you want pics.

Message: Here's a shot of both.
A close up.
I used 1/2" round weather stripping as a spacer between the subs and the box.

looks excellent.
was it hard to form the weather stripping into a circular shape? (in order to keep it "sealed")

Message: Cut the weather strip slightly longer than it needs to be. Put in a few screws and it will hold it in place while you screw it down. The weather strip was the idea of the guy I bought them from. It works fairly well. They only need an eigth to quarter inch or so to not have the bottom of the magnets hit.
