Subject: Alpine CDA-7998-please read and post IP: Logged
Message: Hi all,
Just put in the above head unit in my 2001 Dakota Club Cab. I plan to get the Alpine 176a 2 piece components for the front. I plan on using the factory rear for fill for the time being. I am trying to decide how and where to put a good 10 inch subwoofer and amp. I see that some build and sell a center console box and then there is thunderform. I prefer not to lose the space under the back seat if I can. I plan to run one 3/4 channel amp. Front to power alpines. Head unit to run factory rear fills and back of amp to run a single 10. What would you recomend for a 10 and amp that will fit. I want to mount the amp under the passeanger seat. And might get one of stumpers center consoles for a 10.
Thanks,
John B

Message: Here is what I am working on. I have a JVC head unit(forgot the model) pushes 45x4. I am building a box to replace the tool tray under the rear seat, only differance between my box and most others, I am running 1 10"-power accoustic driven by a fosgate 1500watt amp. Between the amp and box, I will still have room for storage. Oh and lets not forget about sound, midway through the building process a me and a couple of buddies threw it in, unsealed, w/ no bottom, and sub not screwed in, all I can say is why have two, when one sub pounds the crap outta my dak. I didn't want to give up the storage either, that is why I am building the box my self. I figure I can mount the jack, and amp together in the other compartment, or center the amp, for better cooling, and mount the jack in its own box, just a thought..
