Subject: T-form for 00-03 Quad Cab
IP: Logged

Message:
Gents, as I was thumbing my way through the most recent Crutchfield catalog, I scanned their listings for custom T-forms. Strangely enough, this time I saw a listing for a 2000-2003 Dodge Dakota Quad. I thought, "yah, right", as some vendors can't quite figure out the difference between a CC and a Quad, so I got on their web site and it showed a picture, but no placement detail. Looking on the MTX web site, it did not have the product listed, but the news section contained a note that they are beginning production on a T-form for the 00-03 Dakota Quad and F150 Quad cab, with the box going under the driver side back seat. The Crutchfield picture seemed to support that placement. Unfortunately, the T-form does not come unloaded, just load and loaded/amped. It appears that MTX may be the first out the door with a custom box for the Quad (maybe :-)

First off, excuse me, but Gents _and Ladies_....

After looking closer, this T-form would have to go behind the drivers-side back seat. No way it's going to go underneath and have room for the sub-woof and airspace... duh...

Go to Crutchfield's web site and put in the info for a Quad Cab, then select the custom subwoofer box link. It has a picture, but no info on actual install location, dimensions, etc. Note that I believe that it needs to go behind the seat, not under it, as the MTX News article stated.

You could fit a single 8" or maybe a 10" behind the rear seat in QC, but the seat would no longer fold up.

I wonder how that sounds, I see what they mean about under the seat..wedge towards the back.. but I swear the seat will still sit on it..causing it to be muffled...Enough Air space???????.. Don't know..stealthy.. some one should check it out!!...I think I will stick with my center console...

I still can't see how this will fit _under_ the seat. If you look under the rear seats in the Quad there is only 1-2 inches under it... I still believe that MTX may have the description wrong and the placement is actually behind the driver's side rear seat.

Has anyone actually seen this Tform, or the installation instructions?

Chris, any way you could acquire and post the install instructions, just to validate?

Check out this website. I myself have been in search of way to install subs in my truck without losing space, and this is what I found when doing a search on-line. It's a pretty good idea I thought since most people don't use the middle front seat. I'll be trying this soon for my truck. Good luck everyone!!!
