Subject: Sub Box Measurements for a Club Cab IP: Logged
Message: I was going to make a sub box for my 1999 Dakota R/T club cab. I would buy one off of Jason (makes boxes for club cabs), but i dont have enough money - sorry Jason.
I plan on putting 2 MTX 8000 12's in this box and a 600 watt amp in the center. I would like to move my hinges up so i can have more cu. space and get that deeper bass sound. I made a quick sketch below on Paint. If anyone knows the lengths of any of these measurements and would like to share them, I really appreciate it. i numbered the measurements to make it very easy to share what they are. (for example, length 1 = 48" ) If u share, i really appreciate it, thanks,
-Matt

you are going to have to do a fibre-glass bottom. if you dont and you use a solid wood bottom, you will lose about 3" of mounting depth
the subs are 12" rockford punch DVCs. they have a mounting depth of 6.5". and i have about 1" between the magnet and the bottom. EACH chamber has 1.25 ft^3
i toyed with moving the seats up too. and i gave up. you lose too much head room. so i just put a sold piece of 1/2" wood. covered it in gray vinyl and carpeted the bottom. and put it on cabinet hinges. if someone has to sit on it, too bad. i got my nice leather seat! lol

Message: as for measurements, mine were
1=50"
2=15"
and for the "notch" in the floor. i took a piece of cardboard, cut it to fit around the notch, then traced it to the wood.
