Subject: quad cab subs IP: Logged
Message: i've seen an eight inch sub, firing toward the back, installed in place of the center console in the front seat. i dont remember how high the box was-i would assume 9-10inches.has anyone tried a similar set? i was also thinking of removing the movable storage compartment and making the box as high as is would normally be with the compartment down. i was thinking of housing 2 eights and instead of having the panel of the box facing the back of the truck flat or straight up and down, i was thinking of making it v-shaped-kinda the way a bandpass box would look but have the box sealed. let me know what you think or if this makes sense. thanx

Message: Sounds like it would work to me, and be a little different than I have seen so far. All I can say is if you drive your truck daily, give a good long weekend for the install, in case you run into problems. I'm really bad about getting off work, having dinner, and then staring something on my truck with two hours of daylight, knowing I have to drive it to work in the morning. Whatever you do to it, remember it's your truck. Your opinion is the only one that matters (unless your married) then it's her's!

Message: if you shape them in a v angled towards each other you might have cancalation problems. fireing subs upward doesn't sound good in these trucks in my opinion. I'd try 10's one back one downward.

Message: Has anyone had any experience with the Fosgate 6.5" subs? I was looking at the boxes that replace the middle console in the QC (TonyC), and with the added height, I don't like it, but with 2 6.5" subs, it might not have to be higher at all. All I have now is factory crap speakers and a Sony CDX-MP70, just looking at options, any help would be appreciated.
