I have a kenwood z828 excelon cd/mp3 player this was a 650.00 head unit new but has started to mess up I have sent it away for repairs and it only worked for 30minutes before becomeing disfunctional again.
I am frustrated with both soundadvice and kenwood in general and have been shopping for new cd players, for the options i want kenwood(would like to avaoid) and panasonic and clarion are the only ones provideing me with the options I want.
3 pre outs.
high level preouts.4+volts
auxiliary inmut for my ps2 tv.
just looking for general opinions I had a panasonic and it worked great for me still works actually in another car that i sold to my brother. I love alpine and it would match my amps but alpines I have seen need an adapter that requires a cd changer to get an aditional imput.

I like my Clarion for what it's worth. When it comes to multi-media stuff (like adding TVs) they are really good.

really I've had friends that didn't have good experience with eclipses? I've always liked them and recently saw one on tweeter.com with 8volt preouts and 110db cd/noise, which both look good.
who knows I've heard nothing but good things about kenwood, and im disapointed in this one.

I have a JVC mp3 player I bought at Best Buy about 6 months ago, and it kicks ass, I have never had a problem with it at all. Its display is easy to read and it functions effortlessly. JVC comes highly recomended by this Dakota owner. I also previously have owned two different high end Pioneer head units with great satisfaction. good luck.

Nakamichi's CD 400 this deck is killer might not look so hot but it is! goto ebay can get them for like 330!!!

I have always bought Pioneer decks. From the cheapo $100 to the one I have now ($450 3 years ago) I have never had a problem (total of about 6 that I ahve installed). My bud had a clarion and hates it becaus ethe controls are so small it is easy to to the wrong thing if you hit a bump... It is all personal choice... They are (for the most part) all of great quality. Get the one you like the layout and controls on...
