Subject: MTX Quad Cab Enclosures IP: Logged
Message: Just thought I would share what I just got from MTX on the enclosure for the Quad Cab. This came off of the online chat with MTX:
"scott: Hello. How may I assist you?
you: hey scott this is toby
you: i am trying to find a picture of the model DDQC10U
you: mtx-magnum series.
scott: let me see if i have one
you: okay. It is the first one I have seen so far for a Dakota Quad Cab.
scott: i do not have any pics on the enclosure, if you could check back in a week
you: okay are they ready for sale?
scott: im almost positive they are let me check
you: okay
scott: YES, they are a 48 hour build time
scott: so anyone you order it from it will take about a week
you: okay thanks for your help ..Have a nice day."
A 48 hour build time??? Who thinks this may be a good product? Or does anyone already have one? THanks.

Message: i honestly don't see how they can fit a sub, let alone a 10" sub under the rear seat in a quad cab.

Message: My guess is that it goes behind the seats and just under the back rest. If you do not care about the seats folding up anymore (and relocate the jack) there is actually about as much room back there as a regular cab truck which means two 10"s or four 8"s would fit nicely.

Message: i've been looking around in my back seat to see waht i can possibly go with. there was a thread talking about a 8" box that would fit back there. the thing that i didn't realize till i looked was that the seat brackets go almost all the way to the back wall. so you'll need to find a box that fits between the seat brackets.
on the 40 side of the 40/60, you could put 1 8" box. i'm not sure there's enough room to put a box with enough voulume to hold and manage a 10". on the 60 side, you could have enough room for a box to hold either 2 8" or 1 10".
you can build a box to hold anything you want. but you really need to look at the internal volume to make sure you're getting the full effect of the sub. cause if you get a box that has enough volume for an 8" it can and will sound better than a 10" that doesn't have a large enough box.
and this is all without moving out the seat brackes...which i don't want to do.
don't get me wrong. i'm not trying to prove anyone wrong. i'm just going on what i've seen so far. trust me, i would love for them to come up with a practical solution. it's either that, or i'll have to build a center console to go between my front seats.
