Subject: begineer dvc help!!!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I really dont know anything about amps or subwoofers but I just bought 2 Boss R3000D
CLASS D MonoBlock Power Amplifiers (can work in 1,2,4 ohms) and 2 Audiobahn AW1006Q 10" Flame 900W RMS DVC Subs. Usually most speakers only have 1 set of audio inputs, this subwoofer has 4 on each sub. I really have no idea how to hook it up. Could someone please explain to me how to. A diagram would be really helpful (sub wiring).
Thanks,
John

Message: you can get a diagram at audiobahns website. all it is it connect positive to positive and negative to negative (the 4 inputs on the sub) which are marked in the platic...its hard to see...then do the same with the wires going to the amp for a 1 ohm load...however beware...i used to have one of these speakers and put a true 500w into and it fried. i do think that boss is an under rated amp so dont turn it up to loud right away...also play your speakers at about 1/2 volume for about 12-14 hours before you turn it up and let it bump hard...that breaks it in kinda like breaking in a motor...hope that helps...

Message: I would not run the amp under a ohm load just for the sake of not damaging anything. You could very easily fall to 0ohms when running a 1 ohm load and cause the amp to short out. If they are dual 4ohm VC's then wire the VC's on each sub in parallel and the two subs together in series. that will give you 4 ohms.
