Message: I need some advice. I'm thinking about putting in 5-1/4" Infinity Reference Components in the front and was wondering if my Pioneer HU can drive them well enough? I believe it pushes something like 20W or 22W RMS per channel. I do have a 30Wx2 amp from my old car that I want to use for a sub and thought maybe I should use it for the fronts instead. I can not purchase another amp as my budget won't allow it and I really want my sub in.

If they're the 505cs series, they should sound okay as long as you don't try pushing the volume too much. According to Crutchfield they're rated for 2-75 watts so they can take a ot more than what the HU offers.
I would install the Infinity's, hook them up to the HU and see what they sound like. If they distort too much you can try the amp. 30x2 won't be much better than what the HU puts out though.

Message: Yep, that's the one's! I usually don't play my music too loud, just as long as it sounds good to me inside the cab. I just hope that they're worth the extra money over regular speakers.

Message: Normal listening levels only require 1-10 watts to produce 90 - 95dB, which is loud enough to hear on the highway just fine. The big watts are for levels that can produce headaches. There have been several professional winning systems that have <25 watt systems.
