Message: Hey guys, I have a 2000 cc with the infinity sound system. The cd player in anal and only plays my burnt cds once in a while so I'm going to be putting my pioneer cd player in it soon. My question is as follows: I have heard that the infinity sound system has amps on each speaker, does this mean that I am going to have to run all new wires?

Message: if you are only changing it because it only plays you burnt CDs once in a while, here's a tip. use only high quality CDs to burn. i only use SONY.
give it a shot if you are using those cheap A$$ ones that you buy 20 for $5
if it isnt better, or you are already using high quality CDs, then i would change it too

Message: The thing is I already have the pioneer cd player, I have had it for a few years. It is still in my old car at my parents house so I figure I'll use it anyway. And it has to be cleaner than the infinidy because up untill I got my truck I didn't know that infinidy made a cd player.

Message: the 98 dak with the infinity premium sound system, has an amp mounted behind the passenger kick panel.. if you are replacing the hu with a stock replacement your'e prob ok, but if your new unit has amplified output, ie 4*50 watts, you will sound ok at low volumes, but if ya turn it up you can quickly overdrive inputs of the infinity amp, and will have notice-able distortion.. I went around it...
