did you get the infinity sound system in the truck from the factory?
what kind of sound are you looking for?
if you just want some base MTX makes a thunderform enclosure that fits under the back seat of your truck that comes in either loaded(w/subs), unloaded or loaded w/amp. that puts out a good amount of bass and sounds really good.
the stock speakers i beleave are 6-3/4". with some careful drilling you can get 6.5" speakers to fit and Infinity makes some good aftermarket speakers with either the kappa series or the Pro series. eith will do and each sound much better than the factory speakers. Any aftermarket din sized radio will fit so figure out how much money you have to spend and go from there

Message: The best system is a matter of personal taste... and limited only by your budget..
The '98 had different options, but in general, replace the HeadUnit, if ya had the Infinity premium sound system remove the internal amplifier, install some replacement component speakers in the front and a nice set of mid's in the rear.
The factory speakers are special made for chrysler by infinity 6.75" with a 3 hole mounting pattern, which is different that any after market spkr. you will need some adapter rings of some sort..
Most any replacement will be better than the factory speakers, especially after 4 years of use, abuse, and just age on the foam surround of the factory's..

Message: I would also recommend you replace the factory speakers, this will make the single biggest difference in your sound quality.
