Subject: Quad Cab - Subs & Highs that rock IP: Logged
Message: So I finally got my Quad Cab & wihin a week, I had it dissambled (From the Infinity system) and re-assembled with a whole new sound system that kicks ass over the Infinity system
Here is what went in:
Alpine CDA-9815 (CD Player/MP3)(27RMS x4)
Alpine CHA-S634 (6Disc Changer in Console)
Infinity Kappa 60.5cs Components (Front)
JBL Power P-632 Coax (Rear)
Sherwin XA-1180 (120 RMS for sub) (From Eclipse)
Custom Build Sub BOx ( 13W x 13.25H x 6.25 Deep (Bottom) 4.25 (Top)
Rockford Fosgate HE RFP4408 8' woofer
Day1: Removed the rear speakers and replaced w/ the JBL's. (Fairly easy; but did require the adapter bracket from cructhfield AND the existing one on the factory speakers)
Day2: Replaced the front speakers with the Infinity Components. This was fairly easy as a I spliced the wires straight on the door (Used the Inifinty brackets along with the existing Dodge brackets.
Day3: Ran the power wire (8gauge) through the firewall on the passenger side. Bypassed the amp in the front passenger kick panel(by the lower blower). Placed the 6 disc changer in the glovebox. Placed the amp under the passenger seat. Replaced the Factory HU; with the alpine and hooked it up.
The box I built was a snug fit (I'd still take about 1/2" off the top and bottom depth if building a new box. (My box requires GRILLS to keep from touching back of the rear seat)
8 hours, 2 bleeding hands later; fire it up for the first time. Threw in my autosound disc and did the last minute tweaks on the HU. OMG; this thing sounds kick ass. Nice clean highs & solid tight bass for rock & rap. (I used to have a pair of tens before and I'm still in love with the sound this throws).
And the best part is that I have ~900 songs at my fingertips for instant access w/o having to carry a cd wallet :-P
Day 4: Wash, Wax Truck and go cruising :-P
email me if you have questions?

Message: Sounds sweet bro. How many woofers did you put it? I have 3 solo baric L7 8's running off a rockford fosgate 1000bd in my quad cab. I have had so many ppl ask what subs i have in there and i tell them that they are 8's and they dont believe me. Its a great feeling. Take it easy guys.

Message: Yep... 8"s hit hard, most people just throw some under-powered 12"s in a box that's too small and wonder why they have no bass.
