Subject: JL Stealthbox in 02 CC IP: Logged
Message: I ordered the JL Stealthbox a few weeks ago and from a local shop for $450 and it came in today.
I have set it in place and noticed that the seats stick up very badly. When i looked at the pictures on the website, I see that the seats in the pictures are thinner than mine and that there are covers that go over the storage bin. My 2002 never came with these covers and my seats are thicker and have a lip on the front edge which makes them stick up higher.
Anyone put this box in a 2002? I am not sure what I am going to do to try and make this work now. JL audio lists it as compatible with my year. Any ideas/suggestions?

I'm not going for pure bass or power, just a full clean sound without sacrificing my rear seat. The quality of the sound of the JL is definately not a problem, nor is the box's construction. I am just a little upset that they list it as being compatible on '97 and Up when it isn't letting my seats swing down all the way on my 2002. I will have to modify my seat hinges to try and lift the back of the seats up an inch or two so they will sit level. I am going to install it this weekend and I'll figure it out then. I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this situation already.

Message: well i have a 02 dakota cc and i ordered the mtx thunderform. it fit perfectly but did raise the seat up about an inch in the front of the seat. if your just looking for some good sound the thunderform will do that. i believe it fits better and you still get cup holders for the back seats! you can get the thunderform any way you want, powered w/subs---no amp or subs---or only with subs. by no means are the subs that come with the thunderform great but they make a OK sounding system sound great
