Subject: Speaker Size (sorry but frustrated)
IP: Logged

Message:
Well I apologize but here is another speaker size post. I have a 98 Dakota sport extended cab with the upgraded Infinity soundsystem. I want to replace all the speakers but everyone I talk to or everyplace I look gives me different speaker sizes. If someone could please nail this for me and tell me exaclty what will and wont fit please let me know. Will 6-1/2" components fit in the front and 6-3/4 fit in the rear, or 6-1/2 all the way around. Please let me know. I appreciate your help.
Thanks,
toughwaters

Thats a loaded question... the factory speakers are OEM specific for Chrysler made by Infinity.. some variant of 6.75" with a 3 hole mount.. The fronts are components, the rear are 2-ways.

I installed Infinity Kappas 652.5i 2-way's in the doors and the rear without any adapters, although it took some precision drilling and screwing.. but they fit no problems and sound great.

There are many post on this and other boards on this subject, use the SEARCH feature.. If you replaced the HU you may also want to wire around the premium infinity amp... to enjoy the full potential of your new speakers.

You can also get adapter rings from crutchfield, and some pioneer replacements come with adapters for chrysler...

If anyone is still reading this i bought some pioneers 6 3/4" 3 ways. They came with the brackets to put these right on the plastic speaker mounts. No cutting or drilling
