I'm trying to instal a panasonic in dash cd player in my 94 dakota and i bought the chrysler wiring harness adaptor from Best Buy. The cd player turns on and everything works but only the front speakers have power. I have checked all the connections and everything appears to be connected right and i know all my speakers work but I dont have any power to the rear speaker. Any Suggestions?
Thanks,
Zac

Dont want to say anything about the simpleness of this, but check the fade on the radio itself. Makesure it is set to all speakers, not to only front speakers. Just a quick thought. Maybe you have done this, but its a simple thing you might check if you havent already. Good Luck.

already checked that, everything should be working as all the speakers worked with the stock radio yesterday. I connected all the wires to the wiring harness adaptor correctly but i cant check that the adaptor itself is wired correctly because dodge used funny colored wires and I dont have a schematic

hey dude. i installed a jenson cd receiver in my 92 dakota about 3 months ago and rode around without the back speakers working for about a month. i got my buddy to look at it with me.the harness has two seperate connectors, one handels power and front speakers. the other handles the fader, power antenna and back speakers. check that second connector. unconnect it and look at the pins in the male connector. make sure none of them are bent (thats what was wrong with mine). after you make sure all the pins are straight, reconnect the connectors. If it still doesnt work turn on the battery and play with the wires. make sure they are fitted snugly into the connectors themselves. then if you get it to work like that, use electrical tape to tape the entire harness and connectors tightly together. this should solve the problem.
