I'm not trying to start any fights with all you rockford lovers out there but honestly, why waste your money? there are so many other companys out there that are way better in every way. Rockford got it's name because when they hit the market they were the sh!t. (I still remeber how awsome a Rockford system sounded back in the day of the old-school rockford series 1 products.) But face the facts, they sold out. their products are cheaply made in taiwan and sold at BestBuy to kids who are not in the know and still have face in the name Rckfordfosgate.

i can't say anything really bad about rockford fosgate. they have never let me down. i have been in car audio for 15 years and i have seen them grow. i saw them sell to best buy and have herd every series of equipment. back in the day when they had the oval black amps(first series of the oval black amps) they were underating their amps. but back then the distortion was at a level that you won't hear today in any moddest system. with the equipment availible today and all the companies out there, it's hard to stay at the top of the line. with rule changes in compitition making it not worth it to underate their amplifiers anymore they decided to rate their amplifiers accordingly to what their amps accually put out. Doing this it makes the older audio crowd think that they are not making as good as a product as they used to when in reality they are just making a product with less distortion, cheaper. when they realeased the series to best buy they changed the model number slightly when they first started selling it to them and that led me to believe that they were using cheaper parts to be able to sell to bestbuy. but only in those models. with the way technology has advanced anyone can make a good amplifier with low distortion and that's why it seems that they don't make as good as a product. i have yet to hear a sub or amp that doesn't sound good. As far as their component speakers or head unit, that's another story. they came out with those products when they started selling to best buy and that leaves me to believe they started going for money and they did make a cheap product. would i buy a amp or sub from rockford fosgate. yes i would and i am currently debating it. but that's just my skewed view of it all

well I own a punch 100.2 and a power 350S and I have to say I really like them both, at first when they renamed their lines and went to best buy I thought they had sold out as well because my local stereo shop stopped selling the stereo amps and was forcing people to buy 2 mono amps to make money, but after some serious searching I found the stereo I was looking for (the 350S) and all I can say is WOW, I mean it has some serious power to it and I wont complain about it.
Also happen to have some component speakers from them and they sound good in my opinion too, havent heard a head unit to make a comment about that

If u spend more money on a sub or anything than the cost of Rockfords.... you're spending WAY too much, and you need a freakin life. Take that money and invest it somehow so when you retire you'll have money. The way I look at it, Why spend a lot of money if u can spend hardly anything and have 75% of the "quality" u do... answer that question.

Ive been using rockford products for about 5-6 yrs now...honestly that my fav. brand...ive also had JL Audio subs, Audiobahn subs, Orion subs, Memphis subs, and kicker subs and my fav are still rockford...i have a bd500.1 and a 10" Punch HX2 in my truck and it sounds great and has sounded great for about the last 7 months ive had it in there...i only expect it to keep doing the same. Of course if you buy any car audio products from stores like best buy or circuit city your gonna get screwed...they sell each companies "off-products" or overrated ones...thats why they are cheaper also...take the old RF amps for example...if u go to a good car stereo shop and bought one you would see the Amp title (bd500, bd1000, ect.) in silver stamping...at stores such as best buy they were gold plated...meaning they were overrated and not what they were thought to be...jus like a lot of their 8 ohm subs were really 4 ohms, just mislabeled...if you say you dont like RF jus because the stuff u bought from best buy didnt perform to your expectations i dont feel sorry for you...you walked into that one...why do you think its called "best buy"? buy their quality products and im sure you will be just as pleased as i am and always have been.

I bought the Power series 800a2 and 800a4 for my system. They are the first Rockford products I have bought and I am extremely pleased with them. The 800a4 is running my components and they put out the cleanest sound of any I have heard. I would highly recommend the power series--the line that Best Buy doesn't carry--to anyone.
