Subject: Suggestions for wiring my system IP: Logged
Message: I have a 98 CC and plan to upgrade my system next weekend and would appreciate some suggestions as to the best way to hook it up.
My System:
New Pioneer DEH-P77DH
1998 PPI PC450 (4x50w)
1991 Hifonics Vulcan (2ch 100w) 2x50w? No x-over
New CDT Audio CL-6XB Braxials (front doors)
New CDT Audio CL-6 Midbass (rear stock location)
1998 JL Audio 10W1's (8ohm 125w) in a Thunderform
Dynamat Xtreme in doors and rear mids
I am capable enough to hook this up but i am not sure about which amp should do what. I am hoping that the x-over in the HU is sufficent enough seeing how the Hifonics amp doesn't have one built in. Please don't tell me what i should buy or should have bought.I had a very small budget and i had to use some of my old equipment.I did my research and this is what i decided was the best bang for the buck.I am into SQ not SPL. All suggestions welcome! Opinions on how it should sound are welcome too.

Message: Run your cdts all off the PPI and then bridge the hifonics of your subs , I know you said dont say this but if the hifoncis doesnt give you enough bass you may want to look into a little bigger amp for the subs but its up to you if your not happy with the bass output this way . Good luck !

Message: I was thinking it may even sound better to run the rear cdts of your HU you dont want them very load anyway , Then bridge the ppi front and rear to your front cdts , This will give you a great soundstage upfront ...

Message: Thanks for the reply Joezzzzzzzzz. I curently have the jl's in the t-form with the rear channels of the ppi driving them with 200w 4ohms and the front channels driving some cheap coax's with 50w 4ohms. HU driving the rear cheaper coax's. The subs hit hard enough for my taste although they would sound better with more power i know. I just can't afford it. I want to amp the rear CDT midbass with a better source than the HU and i know i will have to turn down the gain to keep from screwing up the imaging. I do plan in the near future(if needed)to add the CDT Image Enhancing kit which is two tweets connected to a gain knob so i can get the soundstage up out of the doors. I guess my question is should i bridge(or not) the hifonics with the fronts and run the rears off the front of the ppi or run the fronts off the ppi and the rears off the hifonics? I want to run the subs off the rear of the ppi cause it has QBass which helps them hit harder.
