PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

Just wondering what you guys think of these amps
below? I need to power 2 10" subs that have a 900 watt peak and a 350watt rms. They are both 4ohm and will be wired into 2 ohm. The amp is not going to be seen, so i dont really need a name brand or good looking one. I just need one that will push the subs.

just remember...you get what you pay for.

i would forget those. look into Memphis amps.
for 2 10"s a ST500D should do nice. i believe its 500rms at 2 ohm. these amps are very effiecient too. sound great. and they are very small

at a local shop they had 3 12" memphis subs runnning off the st500D and it rocked!!! i was amazed it was pounding the 12"s. it should really pound 2 10"s

i couldnt agree with kovs more...especially when it comes to car audio u get exactly what u pay for so if u wanna power those speakers with the right amount of power u should forget those amps u looked at and look into a decent brand...like kovs said, memphis amps are great and they are priced decent...audiobahn makes ok amps, as well as RF, JL audio, Kicker, ect...buy dont buy bullsh*t...

memphis are good amps i have 2 1500d's,there good but if i didn't get a good price like i did because i bought them from a friend,i wouldn't have spent the money that they cost new, they are $1100 dollars,i would think the 500d is still pretty high, but i could be wrong, anyways i have heard that boss is pretty good because my friend had one and no complaints,i also heard that my first amp, jenson 300watt,was a sh!tty amp and people have said they have been known to catch on fire or some sh!t,but a year later and it was still going strong,i had it hook up to 2 12's and was impressed that it made them sound so good.

the speakers are the new sony 1046 series. 10"

Thanks all for the input.

I looked into the Memphis 1000d and it looks
like it goes for around $425 on ebay. That still
kinda high for my po ass. The 500d though looked
to be good. It has 500watts RMS 1x. Does this
mean it would supply both speakers with 500watts rms? Cause they only hold 350Watts RMS.

The 500d is looking good to fit under my bench seat in my 98 reg cab also. And its going for about $250.00 on ebay.

Its looking like the 500d is going to be the choice for me since its small and pushes 500watts RMS. I am still hesitant so if you guys could let me know how much each speaker would be getting in RMS watts each. Cause they only hold 350RMS each.

That amp would put about 250 watts RMS into each speaker. the 500 is divided into the two speakers. It's probably better to buy the smaller amp anyway, because I doubt those sony's could handle 500 watts RMS from a 1000D. Their 350 watt RMS rating might be a little overrated as it is.

I would just go with a JBL BP1200.1 for the price you will probably never get more power than that. If you want to do somemore research then check the boards over at www.Termpro.com

Remember he wants us to recomend a good amp,we don't want to recomend one that will blow the 10's to peices...lol...jbl bp1200.1 i think that would be a bit much for thoughs 10's i would look into the sony amps and get one that fits perfect with those sony 10's that way it sounds good and your not over powering them in anyway, you could go to a place that sells sony stuff and they could hook you up with the perfect amp,I know alot of people don't like sony but my friend went from a jl amp and 4 15" to 3 12's sony and a sony amp.He has had alot of systems so my guess is that he knows whats good, and he has had no problems from sony, now the sony decks he does not like,he has a kenwood.

if he keeps the gain down on the BP1200 it will be a great one for those speakers. Also it will allow for the purchase of better subs down the road without having to worry about another amp.

Go MTX....nothing more powerful for the money. Like a 6500D or 81000D. They just sound sthe best in my opinion. If not MTX then definantly Rockford.

The new Hex-shaped sony's? They say their 1100 watts peak and can't stand anymore then 250 watts from a RF x1 amp. Those subs pop way to easy.

your subs will only sound as good as the signal that is flowing out of the amp that is pushing them. Cheap amps are cheap for a reason, a good system is all about clean signals, soundstream is one of the best amplifier manufactuers out there. I still get misty eyed when I think about my old school soundstream that got jacked a couple of years ago. Also check out PPI, and JL's new amp line is really nice as well.

i think were all forgetting the ohms law here the 900 peak is what the speaker will take at 2 ohms fully packed and the 350 is what it will handle at normal play in a 2 ohm set up the speaker could actually take any amp that puts out about 100 to 150 watts in a 4 ohm load at peak or even nominal play so ,im pretty sure if we do the math ...an amp that was capable of doin about 100 to 150 would be ok ...go with a rockford fosgate amp they have ground kills(topaz) there solid and clean sounding, and give you more bang for the buc!!!! hope this helped....later rick
