Message: I have a 81000D hooked up to 2 15" mtx 8000 subs. MY amp is running 1121 watts rms at 12.5 volts and it sounds great with the subs.....very good sound quality and the ability to cave your head in if ya want. My question is that I can hear a slight whistling noise comming from inside the amp when it is on. You cant hear it when the music is on but you can definantly hear it when the volume is turned down to zero. Anyone know what this might be?

Message: Its your audio inputs. When you run the inputs next to the power wire it f's up the sound. It increases with the rpm's of your engine, or when the alternator is putting out more power the sound gets louder.

Message: The whistling noise may be an internal cooling fan. An amplifier that produces that much power will get hot and some manufacturers put cooling fans inside to keep the power supply cool. I'm not sure if MTX still uses a cooling fan, but back in the day the larger ones did. Read the owner's manual or maybe visit mtx.com to see whether it has a fan or not.

Message: Dang I was into MTX for a long Time. I had seen the 250D push 2 10's Punch HX2 and that S**t was banging, During that time I was pushing the 6500D with 2 12 JL W6 and it rock my buddy's fish shop but right now Im running 2 81000D with 2 12 Phoenix Gold Tantrum. Gotta give props but I need to do something with my factory Alternator. Drainning really bad...Right now nothing but MTX amp only and still have 2 6500D & 2 81000D.

Message: what is happening when you no longer push out the same amount of power as before. What part is causing you power to drop and no longer get the power push that u use to have? Where do you go to get parts? and103 at comcast. net
